CE Marking of Precast Concrete

The CE marking of precast concrete is, above all, a safety mark. It ensures that the products that are assembled on-site have undergone a conformity assessment and that they comply with European directives. The assessment and verification of constancy of performance for precast concrete can be 2+ or 4, according to Regulation (EU) 305/2011. It depends on the product and its function.

The CE marking of concrete does not exist, what does exist is the CE marking of different precast concrete elements, each with its standard and specific control system.

The precast concrete that requires CE marking are multiple:

The CE Marking of precast concrete is based on three legs or backbone shafts:

  • Notified body (depends on the conformity control system)
  • Control on the product (laboratory type and self-control tests), especially resistance tests.
  • Control over processes: organisational system or Factory Production Control (FPC), a fundamental piece, as it helps to structure the entire control system and facilitates its management.
